Monthly Blog

Something I learned while doing research this month is the many different things about publishing and writing. For example while I was looking up different articles and book I came across an article published just last year about different jobs that have just come into the world of publishing. these jabs are : Digital Publishing, Editorial Publishing, Sales Publishing, and Audience Development.  All of these jobs were not here just two years ago and that shows a big improvement on the publishing Job.

Blog # 5 Mentorship and Research Reflection

1. Mentorship question: Describe your experience in how you found your mentorship?  If you haven't found one yet, describe your experience so far in the search of a mentor.

  • I found my mentorship by asking my mom if she knew anyone in the writing/ publishing/ editing business who would let me mentor there. My mom then looked around and knew that at CalPoly Pomona they had a newspaper and also a magazine and so she went and talked to the women who ran the magazine and we found that they were more than willing for me to help them with editing documents and organizing the magazine.

2. Research question: What has been your most important article you have read so far and why?

  • The most important book I have found so far is called How To Write It: A complete guide on everything you'll ever write. This had been the best by far because there are so many points and instructions and also just helps you get started. I think that with this book i could probably find my first answer to my EQ.
